Many hourly employees feel a loyalty to their employer to do a good job and in some cases, employees are afraid or instructed not to clock all of their hours. If you are an hourly employee you are entitled to be paid for all of your time worked. This includes:

  • working through a lunch break;
  • working from home after hours;
  • traveling between worksites;
  • being on call (only in some circumstances);
  • working off the clock to meet required deadlines; and
  • training.

Failure to pay hourly employees for all of their time worked is a violation of the Wage Act and employees can recover triple the amount owed to them plus attorney’s fees. If you are NOT being paid for all of your hard work, you should contact legal counsel discuss you options.
